I was born in New Holland in November 1942 in Rose Cottage  Peploe Lane or as we used to call it Magna Lane. Map

I remember there was a shop on the corner a lady called Martha Rowbottom owned it she used to wrap your sweets up in a newspaper cone that she used to make.

The shop next door was owned by Mrs Redhead there was a cafe next door.

On the same block there was a fish shop I cant remember who owned that.

I remember there was a Hair dressers shop it was owned by Ted Wright Haircuts where a Shilling.

There used to be Public House called the Pelham but it as been closed for years it was in Oxmarsh Lane. Map
